Are you interested in getting started with sketchnoting? Or have you started sketchnoting and want some more ideas on how to use it in your class?
There is an activity, called SKETCH50- 50 days of sketchnotes- starting March 26th and goes towards the end of the school year, yes you can still join after spring break. It has been created by educators for educators, and I would personally love to see it happening in classrooms across the district!
I am going to be going all analog, aka paper and pencil, for my SKETCH50 this year. There are very convenient paper printouts for each weekly theme (see the resources page on the SKETCH50 website or access via the button below) to have students participate in the 5 for 5 doodles a week. There is also a great sketchnote game board to level-up your sketchnote skills with different ideas for the classroom (game board should be available on the resource page by Friday 3/30/18 perfect for jumping in after Spring Break!)
As one of the organizers for this event please reach out with any questions you might have, and if you are on any of the social media platforms share out what your kids are doing. Hashtag it with both #SKETCH50 and #BSDfutureready I can't wait to hear about it! And follow on the platforms below!
I leveled-up already by drawing the icons above, as well as drawing myself following the tutorial below. I took a selfie, loaded it onto my iPad (I used the app procreate but you could also use the free adobe draw app which is what is featured in the video) you need an app that allows you to have layers because you are tracing over your selfie! I will try and post on a weekly basis on tips and tricks to accomplish the level-ups in your classroom. Have fun!
