Come learn how one 2nd grade team introduced engineering design to their students using Spheros, Dollar Store materials and lots of imagination to build the fastest chariot in the class.
A sound strategy for helping students better understand the text they are engaged with is to teach students to become masters at annotating while they read. We will explore strategies to leverage digital tools to help students annotate digital reading material such as PDFs and online articles while reading, conducting research, or preparing for projects.
The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of formative assessment utilizing research from Margaret Heritage and digitals tools that support formative assessment in the classroom. Participants will explore a variety of digital tools that are free, easy to use and can be seamlessly integrated into formative assessment practices.
